Dental Bridgework
Dental Bridgework & Treatment
The clue is in the name when it comes to dental bridgework. It quite literally bridges the gap between missing teeth by adding natural looking replacements that are fully functional. In fact, they will look so natural that nobody will even know you’ve had anything done. Dental bridgework is a cost effective and minimally invasive treatment that gives wonderfully natural results. It doesn’t get much better than that, right?
More About Dental Bridgework
Dental bridgework not only improves your smile cosmetically, but it can also bring back the functionality that may have been missing prior to treatment. Losing teeth can have an impact on every element of our lives, from drinking and eating to chatting and lack of confidence. If this is having an impact on you, dental bridgework can provide the perfect solution!
How Does the Treatment Work?
When you arrive at our relaxing practice, you will come in for an hour-long appointment. During this time, we will create a 5D scan of your teeth to send to our lab team who will craft the perfect dental bridge for you to fill the gap where teeth are missing. Next, we will prepare the teeth on either side and then fit a temporary bridge whilst we wait for your one-of-a-kind dental bridge to arrive.
A couple of weeks later, we will invite you back to have your temporary bridge removed and your permanent bridge fitted! This 30 minute appointment will give you results that last between 5 and 10 years. Et voila, your dental bridgework is complete!
Treatment Eligibility
It’s important to note that in order to qualify for dental bridgework, the teeth surrounding the gap need to be healthy. Otherwise, a dental implant may be required. Don’t worry though, all these options will be discussed in depth with one of our dentists during a dental consultation. We can cross that (dental) bridge when we come to it.
If you are unsure whether dental bridgework is right for you, book in for a consultation and a member of our team will be more than happy to talk you through the options!

What Is Dental Bridgework?
Dental bridgework is a treatment used to bridge the gap between missing teeth. This is a less invasive option than a dental implant and is suitable as long as the two teeth either side of the missing tooth are healthy. This results in a functional and natural looking smile that can last up to a decade!
How Is Dental Bridgework Done?
Firstly, 5D scans will be taken of the teeth to create a custom dental bridge. The two teeth either side of the missing tooth are prepared, then a temporary bridge is fitted while your permanent bridge is created. The dental bridgework is then finished two weeks later, when your permanent bridge will be fitted.
Who Needs Dental Bridgework?
Dental bridgework is required when someone has missing teeth, caused by decay, injury or gum disease. If just one tooth is missing, a dental implant may be the better option. This is something that can be discussed in detail with your dentist, or during your initial consultation.
How Long Does Dental Bridgework Take?
The entire process to get permanent dental bridgework is around two weeks. Your first appointment will involve taking 5D scans that are sent to our lab to create a permanent bridge. You will be fitted with a temporary bridge for this time, so you will leave with a full smile the same day. Once your permanent bridge is ready a few weeks later, it will be fitted and you will leave with your new smile.
Is Dental Bridgework Permanent?
Dental bridgework can last over ten years with the right oral hygiene and regular visits to your dentist. The poorer the care, the less time they will last, so your commitment to good oral hygiene is important to consider before having the treatment. If you encounter any issues with your dental bridgework following your treatment, please get in touch with us and we’ll be sure to get you an appointment with your Beyond Dental dentist as soon as possible!
